THE FIRE IS BACK

Firehole Outdoors was born from a simple idea: fly tyers deserve better. Better engineering, better consistency, better materials, and a brand that respects the craft as much as the anglers who practice it. For years, Firehole earned a devoted following because the products spoke for themselves - clean design, stupid-sharp points, purposeful simplicity, and unwavering performance at the vise and on the water.

Then, for a while, Firehole went quiet.

Inventory disappeared. Communication stopped. The brand many tyers had come to depend on suddenly slipped away. And across the fly-tying world, people asked the same question: What happened to Firehole?

The truth is simple: Firehole paused. But the demand never did. The community certainly didn’t. And the belief in what Firehole could and should be - that stayed alive.

So we brought it back.

Firehole Outdoors has been rebuilt with intention, stabilized with better infrastructure, and restored with a renewed commitment to quality, consistency, and the clean, engineering-forward style that made the brand special in the first place. It is now part of Next Bend Outdoors - but make no mistake, the spirit, tone, and purpose of Firehole remain exactly where they belong.

This isn’t a revival.

It’s a reforging.

Firehole today is stronger, cleaner, and more focused than ever. The product line is expanding. Inventory is reliable. The hook designs are unchanged - but quality control, materials sourcing, and sizing consistency have all been tightened. Tungsten Stones have been reorganized for clarity and accuracy. Packaging is being refined. And the brand now has long-term stability behind it.

This is the Firehole that tyers deserve:
Purpose-built. Premium. Honest.
Clean in design, sharp in execution, obsessive in the details that matter.
The fire never went out.
It just needed more fuel.

And now, Firehole is back - with a clear mission and a long runway ahead.

Welcome back to Firehole Outdoors.
Let’s get back to work at the vise.

A LETTER FROM THE OWNER

Fly fishing has always been where I find my center. It’s where the noise drops away and things make sense again. I picked up a fly rod more than thirty years ago and started tying flies not long after. For me, tying has always been a natural extension of fly fishing - the same patience, rhythm, and attention to detail, just in a quieter form. Whether I’m at the vise or on the water, it’s the process that grounds me, not just the outcome. That rhythm and focus have shaped how I approach nearly everything in life and business.

I’ve spent my career building companies rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and care for the details that others might overlook. But fly fishing has always been the constant - a thread that runs through it all. It’s the place I go to recharge, to think, and to reconnect.
So when I saw Firehole - a brand I personally admired for its clean design, smart engineering, and loyal following - begin to fade from view, I couldn’t just watch it disappear. The fly-tying world needs brands like Firehole - brands with purpose, humility, and grit.

That’s why I decided to bring Firehole back.

Not to reinvent it, but to honor its legacy, protect what it stands for, and build on it for the long haul.

Firehole Outdoors is still everything that made it great:
Barbless by design. Purpose-built for performance. Crafted for those who care about the details.

But now, we’re stepping forward with fresh energy and a clear direction - refined designs, thoughtful packaging, and a renewed commitment to serving the fly-tying community that made Firehole what it is.

Our first focus is getting the foundations right - the Sticks (hooks) and Stones (tungsten beads) that so many of you have come to trust. But this is just the start.

From here, we’ll continue to grow - with tools, materials, and innovations designed with the same Firehole philosophy: functional, reliable, and built for tyers who live for the small details.

To those who have supported Firehole from the beginning - thank you for keeping the fire burning. And to those discovering it for the first time - welcome. You’re in good company here.

Because this isn’t just about tying flies. It’s about curiosity, creativity, and the joy of finding what’s waiting around the next bend.

Tight lines,

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Stupid Sharp. Purpose Built. Always Barbless.

Firehole Outdoors was built on a belief that fly-tying materials should do two things exceptionally well: perform on the vise and perform on the water. Nothing more. Nothing less.

We avoid gimmicks. We avoid clutter. We don’t chase trends or flood the market with things no one needs. We design with purpose, engineer for consistency, and build products that tyers actually want to use every day.

Here’s what matters to us:

Precision Engineering

Every Firehole Stick starts with a high carbon steel that gives our hooks an unmistakable feel - strong, sharp, and resilient under pressure. The design is minimal because minimal works. A good hook doesn’t need to show off.

Always Barbless

Firehole was founded on barbless principles long before it was fashionable. Barbless hooks penetrate better, release cleaner, and reflect a respect for the fish and the craft. It’s not a trend. It’s our identity.

Density and Consistency in Tungsten

Firehole Stones are tungsten done right - clean bores, precise sizing, reliable finishes, and weights you can trust. When you buy a 2.5 mm Stone, you get a 2.5 mm Stone. Every time.

Clean, Functional Design

We remove everything that doesn’t matter so the things that do can shine. No cluttered graphics. No complicated naming systems. Just Sticks and Stones - designed for tyers who appreciate simplicity and quality.

Built for People Who Care About the Craft

Our products are made for the tyers who take pride in what they create: commercial tyers, guides, shop staff, passionate hobbyists, and anyone who values good tools and good design.

This is our philosophy.
This is Firehole.
Simple. Sharp. Dependable.
The way fly-tying materials should be.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FIREHOLE

Building the Future of Sticks & Stones

Firehole has always been a brand shaped by tyers - people who pay attention to the details, value honest engineering, and care about the craft. As we move forward, our plan is simple: keep improving the fundamentals, expand thoughtfully, and continue earning trust one hook and one bead at a time.

Here’s what’s ahead:

Expanded Hook and Bead Sizes

The most immediate evolution of Firehole is practical and product-driven:
more sizes, more options, and more refinement across the Sticks & Stones lineup.

This includes:

•    expanding popular hook models into additional sizes
•    adding new tungsten bead sizes to fill known gaps
•    adding brass beads for lower-weight options

Not fast expansion - smart expansion.

Continued Improvements in Organization & Clarity

Firehole’s clean design philosophy doesn’t stop with packaging.
We’re building a product system that makes sense:

•    clearer categorization
•    simplified naming conventions
•    intuitive structure for both online shopping and fly shop peg walls

Everything should feel easier - for tyers, for dealers, for anyone using the products.

Stronger Support for the Community That Built This Brand

The tyer community is the backbone of Firehole, and the road ahead includes:

•    more commercial tyer support
•    improved communication about restocks and availability
•    expanding dealer resources and education
•    opportunities to engage more directly with the brand

Firehole exists because of tyers.
Its future is being built with them in mind.

Long-Term, Steady Growth - Not Noise

You won’t see Firehole trying to be everything to everyone.

What’s next is measured, deliberate, and grounded:

•    expand when it adds value
•    innovate when there’s a clear purpose
•    keep the brand clean, focused, and trustworthy

Firehole’s strength has always been its simplicity and purpose. Those remain the guiding principles going forward.

A Brand You Can Count On

The future of Firehole isn’t defined by big announcements or splashy promises.
It’s defined by consistency, quality, and showing up for the people who rely on our products.

Sticks and Stones will continue to grow in thoughtful ways - ways that make tying better, easier, and more enjoyable.

That’s the vision.
That’s the commitment,

The next chapter is about building a Firehole that lasts.
